Project 64

ALLTRAX NZ are very pleased to be part of the team of tradespeople involved in Project 64.
A 1964 Mini Cooper S being prepared to compete at Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah 2012.

This 1964 Mini Cooper S will be competiting at the Bonneville Speed Week 2012 Utah. We officially launched the project and unveiled the Mini on September 10th 2011 at WOW (World of Wearable Arts and Classic Cars Museum). We had Burt Munroe's grandson (Rob Henderson) there to speak and unveil the car.

Our main objective is to raise enough money to get it and us there to compete. So sponsorship welcome.
We have these sponsors and donators to date:
WOW Museum, Maersk Line, ALLTRAX NZ, Automotive Vision, Swift Automotive, Victory R, Hartley engines & Motorsport, Minis in Nelson Inc, Radio Network, Andrew Healey Signs, Richmond Glass, Basis, Nelson Brake Services, Blacks Fasteners, Lighthouse Brewery, Mondo Travel.

We are part of the "Core Team" along with Victory R and Hartley Motorsport that will be attending the event next year. Hartley Engines & Motorsport are building the motors, Alltrax has built the safety rollcage and done all the body work, Victory R are the 2 guys that thought this up and put it all together (the brains behind the whole thing!).

You can go to www.facebook.com/ProjectSixtyFour for all the relevant and correct information and www.flickr.com to view more photos.

Photos below show the Mini beginning its transformation at the ALLTRAX workshop where Garry begins some minor rust repairs, fabricating and installing a full safety rollcage and a full sandblast in preparation for painting.

Jensen Interceptor

This Jensen is here for us to complete a major body and chassis rebuild. By the time it is finished we will have replaced most of the floors and substructures as well as all external panels except for the roof which will also require rust repair in the front corners. We will be taking this project through to top coat preparation.

MK 1 Ford Escort Rally Car

Garry Grant at ALLTRAX has been servicing, maintaining and modifying my rally cars, classic cars and 4WD vehicles for over 10 years. His attention to detail, work ethics and build finish are of a very high standard. Whether it be minor mechanical work, building certified roll cages or carrying out major body and panel repairs.

My most recent project for ALLTRAX has been the building of my MK 1 Ford Escort Rally Car in preparation for the Oct 2010 TARGA NZ Rally. The car was taken down to an absolute bare shell, seam welded and gusseted on a turn table. The body was then prepared and primed and sent off for professional painting. Once painted ALLTRAX then set about assembling the car. All components installed were either rebuilt or new to produce a stunning car ready to compete in the Targa Rally.

The build quality is simply superb. I recently debuted the car at the Nelson Car Clubs Sandy Bay tarseal Hill Climb. The car drove and handled like a dream. A credit to Garry and his team at ALLTRAX.

I highly recommend ALLTRAX to anyone thinking of building a rally, race or modified car.
